D.A.R.E.

A Vital mission... to Fulfill a Vision

     The D.A.R.E Mission

"Teaching students good decision-making skills to help them lead safe and healthy lives."

The D.A.R.E Vision

"A world in which students everywhere are empowered to respect others and choose to lead lives free from violence, substance abuse, and other dangerous behaviors."

D.A.R.E. IS SUBSTANCE ABUSE PREVENTION EDUCATION AND MUCH MORE!

D.A.R.E was found in 1983 in Los Angeles and has proven so successful that it is now being implemented in 75 percent of our nation's school districts and in more than 52 countries around the world.

D.A.R.E is a police officer-led series of classroom of classroom lessons that teaches children from kindergarten through 12th grade how to resist peer pressure and live productive drug and violence-free lives.

WE are very lucky to have Spindale Police Sergeant "Joey" Vaughn as the D.A.R.E. Educator for students at Spindale Elementary.
