The Parks and Recreation Department provides programs and facilities for the citizens of Spindale and surrounding areas to enhance their quality of life. We offer programs for children, youth, adults, and seniors, giving each age group an opportunity to participate in activities designed to meet their needs, develop their skills, help them maintain a healthy lifestyle and enjoy their leisure time.
Programs at the Spindale House
Seniors: Walking in the gymnasium, Mon-Fri, 6:30 a.m.-10:00 a.m., checkers, television, coffee, fellowship in the Senior Room.
Meeting Rooms: Rentals available of upstairs dining room with kitchen with a capacity of 125, or a smaller meeting room with the capacity of 20.
Weight Room: Open daily, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. with a universal machine.
Volleyball: Spring and Fall adult leagues in the evenings.
Basketball: Free Play 10:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m., Mon-Fri. Leagues for children ages 5-18 from Dec.-Feb. Summer camps offered as well.
Game Room: Ping-pong, air hockey, etc.
Tennis: 2 courts located behind the Spindale House, free and open to the public. Tennis lessons available in 2-week sessions, spring and fall.
Pickleball: Courts located behind the Spindale House, free and open to the public. Equipment can be rented inside.

Picnic Shelters: Large and small available for rental April-October
Playground: 2 New Slides, swings and play grounds.
Horseshoe pit: No charge, summer tournaments planned
Tennis: 3 newly resurfaced courts, free and open to the public 8:00am - 9:00pm Lessons available
Basketball: 1 full court - beside the tennis courts, 8:00am - 9:00pm
The park closes each evening at dusk, the gates are locked and re-open each morning. No bicycles, skateboards, toys, or pets allowed on the Tennis/Basketball courts however, you may have them in all other areas of the park. Vandalism will not be tolerated. Anyone violating these rules will be trespassed from the parks. All areas are subject to video surveillance.

Softball: Church/Co-Ed League and Open/Industrial League. Fields available for rental for tournaments.
13.36 miles of paved trail connecting multiple communities throughout the county. A great public health asset for Spindale, the trail is 12 feet wide.
Easily accessible from downtown Spindale as the trail parallels Main Street.
