Waste Water Treatment Plant Senior Operator

Salary Range: $42,138 - $52,673 DOE

The Town of Spindale is looking for a WWTP Senior Operator. Main duties include, but are not limited to, daily plant inspections, collection and analyzing daily samples as required by our NPDES permit, assist in pretreatment sampling and inspections, maintenance of equipment, computer work as required and directed by the WWTP Superintendent. This position acts as the backup ORC. The position requires a Grade III wastewater certification however we will entertain candidates who currently have a Grade II and can obtain Grade III within 6 months. Maintenance experience, computer skills in Excel and Word is a plus. Some weekend work is required. The Town provides health, dental and vision insurance, NC State retirement, 5% 401k, holiday pay, sick and vacation days. Closing date is October 18, 2024 EOE

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent; Clear criminal and driving record; NC Drivers license, dependable transportation; Healthy with ability to perform firefighter tasks; Must reside within 3 miles of the town limits; Desire to serve our citizens;

Maintenance Worker

General Statement of Duties

Perform unskilled work in grounds Maintenace including mowing, trimming, cleaning, and maintaining public grounds. Work also includes collecting leaves on a crew, assisting with asphalt maintenance, concrete construction and maintenance, assisting with maintenance of drainage systems, and other unskilled work. Other duties include assisting with signing for construction and flagging traffic, repair potholes, and assisting on other jobs as needed.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to perform heavy duty work and lift up to 100 pounds. Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions. Must possess the ability to safely operate small equipment such as mowers, trimmers, and trucks.

Desirable Education and Experience

Must have High School Diploma or equivalent

Special Requirements

Must possess a valid North Carolina driver's license
